Сщветские экмперименты с водородными двигателями на авто

Project ANTEL We continue research into possibilities of reducing toxic emissions. As part of this, we are working on a vehicle powered by hydrogen- oxygen fuel cells. In order to create such a vehicle, we are working with the Uralski Electrochemical Combine and the Rocket and Space Corporation. As a result of this co-operation, we have defined a concept of development of a traveling trial model on the basis of the electrochemical generator «Photon». In addition, we have created a working VAZ-2131 Antel that is powered by hydrogen-oxygen fuel cells. We have constructed and tested a mobile refuelling and maintenance module for this vehicle. In accordance with the approved programme we are carrying out laboratory and on-the-road tests that allow us to refine the main performance features of the fuel cell. If this programme is successful, a prototype of this vehicle will be created in the near future. This model will be similar to an ordinary vehicle in terms of towing performance and cruising range. However, comfort and environmental cleanliness will be significantly improved. We understand that faster renewal of models and their variety are key to a successful future. With this in mind, we continued work on the other new projects, VAZ-11YY and VAZ-11ZZ.

jack.jpgWith so much green news passing through our eyes and ears on a daily basis, it’s kind of surprising (and sad) to remember that many of the issues we talk about today, were discussed decades ago. In fact, some of the technology that we think is so cool and innovative has actually been around in some form or another for quite some time.
Take for instance this retro look back at a news story with Jack Nicholson touting the benefits of a hydrogen car (with the hydrogen made from solar energy) and his reaction to driving around in one.
“It’s like a standard Chevy. I backed it up, you know, because the last time the auto industry tried to destroy an independent industrialist, they said a “tucker” wouldn’t back up. Remember that?” Well no, Jack, no exactly. Nicholson went on further, “If nothing else, this will revolutionize car-assisted suicide. Instead of carbon monoxide poisoning, you’ll just get a steam bath…”
The video shows the car running on hydrogen and Nicholson rambling off numbers regarding pollution reduction and the effects such a vehicle might have on international politics. Who knew the guy was such a treehugger?
Could you imagine how different our world might be if we had embraced such alternative technology more than 28 years ago? It was there–but we failed to act. Can we afford another 28 years of sitting on our hands? Check out the video below:

В Финляндии продемонстрировали первый гибридный катер

Новости Балтии, Финляндия. В Финляндии все желающие могли на собственные глаза увидеть первый финский гибридный катер, рассчитанный на серийное производство. Данное судно, сообщает Yle, имеет дизельный и электрический двигатели. При работе дизельного двигателя скорость катера может достигать 16 узлов (около 30 километров в час), а при электрическом двигателе − 4 узла (7 километров в час).

Эксперты Землячества трейдеров Прибалтики Академии биржевой торговли и форекс Masterforex-V информируют, что литиевый аккумулятор, которым оснащен катер, весит примерно 200 килограмм, а его стоимость составляет несколько десятков тысяч евро.

По словам производителей, в будущем популярность гибридных водных транспортных средств увеличится в связи с ростом цен на дизельное топливо, а также с «набирающим обороты» во всем мире экологическим образом жизни.

Сегодня стоимость нового финского гибридного катера составляет 180 000 евро. Для сравнения: аналогичный катер, но работающий на дизельном двигатели, стоит 120 000 евро.
